Google Adsense Scams
Adsense is a free program offered by Google. Companies pay Google to place advertisements over relevant websites on the Internet. As a publisher you place ads that match your site's content and audience. Depending on the type of ad you earn money from clicks. The profitability of these ads depends on factors such as website traffic, the click-through rate and cost per click. Natural search engine traffic tends to perform better since these visitors are already searching for something using your keywords. Google AdSense is the most popular but there are many others.
Adsense Scams typically lure you in with screen shots of checks showing large Adsense profits. Then they try to sell you an E-book that reveals the secrets to Adsense success. There are no secrets; Adsense provides information for improving performance for free in its Adsense Resources.
There is also a program called "Adsense Ready Website" that will sell you a website complete with content and ready to place Adsense advertisements. The problem with these websites is the duplicate content. These sites are not unique so as more are sold there will be many sites with the exact same content. Search engines ignore duplicate web pages so no one will find your site using a search engine. This means that no one will click your ads and you won't earn any money.
Pyramid scams
People behind these scams go through great effort to make them seem realistic. Pyramid schemes typically base earnings on the number of distributors recruited and not items sold. Most of the product sales are made to these distributors, not to consumers. The more distributors you sign up the more money you are supposed to make. In order to spot a pyramid scheme look for the following clues:
